you guys got to remember that things can be done cheaper, not every part put on has to be brand new and brand name and cost the most. if its costed someone 250k then they dont need to be working on a car, iv seen people make a 90s saturn sc2 into a rwd for under 5k, if the trans would bolt to the ecotec 2.2 then i dont see a problem with it not working. lots of custom fab on making the bell housing fit uner the car, but if you have the time and the skill it can be done. at the moment me and my cousin are working on a plan of my own, taking a cobalt motor and putting it into my mustang, rwd and ecotec. i planned to use a s 10 trans myself.

That guy actually spend about 300k. But the job he wanted to get done goes way beyond what most of us would want from a RWD, he wanted to race it professionally, in fact he also went to get the NHRA license. Plus, he got screwed from a few companies, I remember he got screwed for $ 100k just by one of the companies he went to. If I could do it by dropping in the rear end of the Solstice for no more than 15k, maybe I would think about it.

i could see spending alot if you were paying a shop to do all the work for you, and having ALOT of stuff custom made, but making a rwd around here is not very un-common. its mostly v8 swapped but same concept and maby even a little hard IMO. my point is the trolls are annoying as hell on this site sometimes.

knowing how to fab makes it alot easier, my friend and his dad built a car all custom fab, it was there "T bucket" used a chevy 4 banger and a mustang rear end. made the steering and cab and hood motor mounts frame... and it was good enough t pass inspection to get tagged and drove on the street, he has drove it state to state. and i can promise it didnt cost 300k. ignorant loud mouths crack me up on forums in gereral, they speak what they have read somewhere, they say it cant or wont get done but how many have tried to do it? how many on forums actually have the skills to do it? anyone can swap parts on a car that takes no skill, anyone can read online and know what part is what on a car. but there are very few mechanics on forums that iv seen.

i agree, if you cant do the work yourself i say do not do it, but if you have the skills to do it it shouldnt cost too much, it bugs me when ******** jump in and knock someone for what they are trying or want to do. just cause its not what YOU would do does not give you the right to say they cant/wont do it and it does not make it the wrong way. the point is to love what your doing and having fun am i right?

a mechanic and a fabricator are 2 totally different things...
