ss/tc shifter

hey guys my buddys junkyard just got a totaled ss/tc and i have heard before that the ss/tc shifter is a shorter throw than my ss/sc shifter? Is this true? If so since i can get this for free would it be worth swapping the shifters just for a slight throw reduction? I cant afford a real sts.lol

lol the trannys are the same and i believe it was in the twm sts sale thread that i saw all these guys saying the ss/tc shifter was a shorter throw because they were like i already have a twm sts from my ss/sc but since the ss/tc already has a shorter throw will it make a difference to put the twm sts in?lol

Yes it is shorter, it is as short as a Hurst STS...they are different part numbers and everything.

I dunno if the cables are routed differently or not though...

the shifters are the same in throw, one they feel different cause the the motor mounts on the tc are designed better, and for shifting, the older the shift is gets broken in thus it will feel different than the brand new one of a ss/tc, note Trans are same style F35 but, final drive ratios in a ss/sc is 4.05 ss/tc 3.85 or around 3.85, and a f35 in a 6-speed sabb is 4.45final drive, this does make the tran different, back to subject, the shifter will work with the car but there is no differance in throw. the part numbers are different on the ss/sc tran to the ss/tc for its still the same f35 tran with diff final drives, thats why part numbers are different, cause in GMs book the trans are different but the shifters are not, and for if there really is a diff its only like 3-5%reduced thans not noticeable, but i would switch it just to say you did.
