Stock Tranny

What can the stock tranny handle HP wise? And is there anything else (other than the axles) you may need to upgrade when looking at higher HP #'s (eg. 300HP). Thanks.

Bump for info.

Some people need a new clutch at 250whp.

Then there is paul. 411whp on the stock setup.

he said tranny, not clutch

its hard to say, there have been people who have cratered them on very low hp levels.
and some who havent had issue at WELL over 300ft/lbs tq.

I think the important thing, is controlling wheel hop (get mounts)
and how well you treat your car.

Yeah, but I figured that most people think clutch when they say tranny. I've only heard of a few people blow gears, but quite a few have clutch issues.

I'm looking for all possible issues, so all input is great Polyurethane engine and tranny mounts? Any other methods of controlling that nasty wheel hop? I have ingalls (not currently installed).
