TTR Upper Mount Install question

I just received my TTR upper mount today and I plan on installing it this weekend. To those of you that have installed the mount, did you use loctite on the threads?

The TTR upper engine mount should come with a very detailed instruction sheet

I just put mine on, loctite wasn't mentioned, all I did was torque to spec, a-like so:

Upper engine mount:
(2) 18mm bolts - 74ft-lbs
(3) 15mm bolts - 37ft-lbs

Just put mine on today. The only thing the instructions did not mention is you have to pull the factory air box off on the 08-10 SS/TC. Those with an aftermarket cold air intake can probably leave it in place but stock and probably K+N will need to remove it.

It's not a big deal to remove the factory box at all. I'm just adding to the post for future readers so they have a heads up.

What are the benefits to the ttr motor mount? would it be better to get the motor mount and tranny mount? or one or the other?

I bought the engine and trans mounts because my car wheel hops at the drag strip. Using the solid engine mount and poly trans mounts get rid of the play that the factory rubber mounts have and puts the power down to the ground.

I did the trans mounts first and it reduced the wheel hops by alot. Plus, it made shifting the car feel alot better without the sloppy factory mounts in place. One downside is the car will vibrate alot more due to the less forgiving poly mounts whereas the factory mount will soak up the vibration with the rubber.

Since wheel hop was not completely cured with just the trans mounts alone I purchased the TTR engine mount to match the STOP mounts I have. Easy install and it actually reduced vibrations in my car somehow. My street test this morning was positive as the car didn't wheel hop at all

I say if you're going to do something get both the engine mount and trans mounts at the same time.
