Uncool, tranny drain plug stripped

i have to deal with stripped plugs on transmissions all the time, and had to deal with both a stripped drain and fill plug on my cobalt after the previous owner stripped them. what i like to do with allen heads that are stripped is first try hammering a socket just larger, sometimes you get lucky finding something close going from metric to standard. if that doesnt work, try a torx socket. failing that, i break out my big chisel and 20oz hammer. what i do is on one side of the plug ill drive the chisel straight in till it makes an indent, then drive it at roughly a 45 degree angle in the direction to loosen it. the sharp blow will drive the chisel in and should help turn the bolt. i do this all the time and generally have great success.
fyi- if you buy new plugs from gm, only ask for the fill plug, or if you need both, get 2 fill plugs. they are different part numbers, the difference is the drain plug has an added magnet that comes out of the plug easily. the fill plug is $6, the drain plug is $35.

listen not to be rude but i take care of this everyday. On Cobalts. F35. I use a 3/8 extension, a 3/8 drive metric allen socket on the end, an impact driver on the extension and a B F Hammer. Surely I dont need to post apicture?
its not a power tool. its an impact driver.
