06 Cobalt S/C Head Unit Question.

My buddy has an 06 cobalt and he has the older head unit, easiest way to explain it is the one with 1 knock on each side of the deck. Now the 07 Cobalts have the head unit with one big knob in the middle, I like that alot more but I am looking at 06 Cobalt S/C because theyre alot cheaper but they have the older model Head Unit, Now what I am asking is. Is the head unit easy to replace with the 07 one? Or is the 05-06 wiring totally different from the 07 models?

If your going to spend the time and money taking that thing apart and putting a diff one in you might as well go aftermarket.

So I'm guessing its not a cheap swap? Since your saying might aswell go aftermarket...I do work at a Car Audio install bay at Best Buy so I get all install Parts Cheap and labor free, so I am wondering a ball park figure you would say for the silver 07 Head Unit and harnesses needed.

I heard it takes alot of wiring to get it to work. Not a simple wiring harness. But... I don't know. The 07 stereo wiring is a p.i.t.a....

Darn, well thanks for your imput guys, I really like the 07 decks, and other than spending an arm and a leg for a navi system there really isnt to many double din deck options out there.
