06 SS/SC Steering Wheel Controls and Pioneer AVHP4000
I am looking at getting this Pioneer AVHP4000 below to replace the stock radio in my 06 SS/SC. Does anyone know if this can work with the steering wheel controls and stock amp/sub?

I have to buy this at CircuitCity because I have $900 in gift cards to get rid of.
I don't need one with nav because I already have a Garmin Nuvi 880.

I installed a pioneer in my Balt. From waht I gathered from circuit city and my own install. the steering wheel controls will not work with an after market system. PAC audio sells interfaces for most pioneer systems. I bought mine for $65 or so. I had a discount. I think most are under $100.

I also want to add the bluetooth and the steering wheel controls thing. It's all pretty expensive so I have to do it a little at a time.
I'll post some pics in the morning. I tried taking some tonight on my BlackBerry and they aren't worth posting.
One minor annoyance with this stereo when using the iPod:
I have 10,000 songs on my iPod and hundreds of bands. They need to add a better way to scroll through the bands to find what you want. Holding the down arrow scrolls pretty quickly but with hundreds of bands it can take a minute or two to find what you want. Once you find and play a band, you can press the link search button and it will bring up all the CDs by that band instead of having to scroll the list which starts at A everytime instead of where you last scrolled to.

Other than that, I love this stereo. The installer also showed me how to bypass the lock that prevents watching a DVD on the stereos screen while driving. Simply apply the parking brake once or twice and then tap the warning screen. The DVD will begin playing and you can drive. Of course we "all" need to follow those warnings and not play a DVD while driving or at least without playing it on rear seat monitors.
