07 Headunit
forgive me this question is not going to be as good as the newb turbo question but i've read a few different thing on this... i wanna put the 07 unit in my 06...anyone that has done this feel free to drop in...otherwise anyone that might have a clue other then raven ....STFU LOL

I believe SilverSS/SC did this. All of the physical stuff lined up, but he had to do a lot of tweaking/flashing with a Tech II and still couldn't get it to work 100%. Hold on and I'll dig up the thread for you.

There were a lot of differences electronically. The 07 headunit relies on the GMLAN system extensively while older ones didn't so much. I also know from experience that the 07 headunits output the chimes/clicks directly to your speakers whereas the 05/06 headunits do not (chimes were in the gauge cluster).
