damn...why would u not want it.i mean do u really save that much?i do have a question tho...since i didnt get it, do the rest of the speakers have an amp on them?
they do not, they are powered by the headunit.

and, the car that i wanted didn't happen to have them, it was either not get the speakers, or keep looking. there was an extra incentive on the cars without them.

I would say try and get the stock sub enclosure and throw in a slim 10 (like the fosgate P3 shallow) aftermarket amp and get a set of componants up front. It would sound alot better then stock and save u a lil bit of hassle
lmao, anyone have a photo of that amp? i don't even see where it would go.

The 7 speaker Pioneer system is standard in SS2.4 ans SS/SC cars from the middle of 2007 and on. Its optional in in the 2006-2007.5 SS2.4 and 2005-2007.5 SS/SC

If you pm me your VIN I can let you know what GM says the car was built with.

Or you can open your trunk, lift up the tire cover and look for the silver label called the Service Parts Identification label. Find that and look for UQ3 if youve got that code and the VIN on the label matches the VIN in your windhsield, the car was originally built w/Pioneer. If it doesnt have that code, it didnt come with Pioneer

I ordered my '07 2.4SS in Aug of '06, and took delivery of it Oct '06, and even back then it was a standard option for me as I didn't pick it as an option, nor did I pay a dime extra for it.

for 06 the ss had a 150 dollar option for an mp3 radio and also an option for a 7 speaker pioneer system. (I forget how much it cost)

The 06 ss came out in august of 05, i researched them and saved up my pennies untill i could afford one over a year later. I ended up ordering an 07 in november of 06 and picked it up on new years eve. It came with the new head unit which includes mp3 play back and aux jack, the pioneer system standard, and also xm radio standard (this one surprised me). the only options i got was a sunroof and side airbags. I have the window sticker as well if you would like to see it. (american version)

hopefully this will straighten everything out.

I as well have heard of carmax, they are usually in rural areas, typically the south.

Your car is actually pretty neat, it appears it was actually originally and only ever service by GM for warranty issues. It never had any warranty work done except for the initial PreDelivery inspection, which was done by General Motors at a location in Ohio(Moraine) which for some reason Google doesnt have satellite images for, but they do for just a few blocks away in any direction.

i have rockford fosgate FNX tweeters. Just adding a sub and amp is going to be easier then adding tweets up front. Rear speakers are 6X9. Check out the stereo FAQ

reference something or another.

i'm a best buy employee, so they were the nicest ones we carry in store, so that's what i did.

honestly, i'm a pretty big infinity fan, so, it was an easy choice.

they may get swapped for perfects in the future, as soon as i get a new HU and finally get around to tossing a four channel in it.

bbear in mind, the 4 channel is sitting in my garage...

So your stock HU is able to make the References sound okay??

(do you have the Pioneer 7 speaker or base?)
