2 ohm-4 ohm

About to replace my stock speakers with aftermarket Pioneers. Looked at the label on the rears and it says 2 ohm. Aftermarkets are 4 ohm. Is that a problem?
Sorry, I don't know much about car stereos.

No it is not. The only difference is that your volume probably won't be as loud with the 4ohm'ers as when resistance increases overall sound output decreases.

yes the stock amp runs everything at 2 ohm. fronts tweets rears and sub. a 4 ohm speaker will get at best half power. turning ur 25w rms to a whopping 12w rms

If you don't listen to it loud then ur fine but if you want any volume then ur gonna need to swap something else... aftermarket amp and stock amp bypass or aftermarket hu and stock amp bypass

oh and if you bough the TS line of pioneers then i would recommend throwing them away and saving urself the time and hassle. they are shittier then stock by far

not really... a few company's made them for short periods of time but a 2 ohm door speaker is as rare as a rotary engine. You can look but the pickings are going to be slim

Yep. Even if I found some 2ohm'ers other than Infinity I'd be concerned about the build and design of the speaker. Infinity's are 2 ohm and fully designed to operate in a system of low resistance. Some companies will say 2 ohm but not actually provide a very efficient design, causing the speaker to sound worse.

The lower the ohms, the more a speakers design plays a factor.

I know but I like my controls and XM and dont really feel like buying a $250 head and then another $250 for audio adapters for XM and everything.

and thats somewhat conservative on the install price... for an amp bypass and everything 250 would be really low
