2006 factory stereo to 2007 factory stereo upgrade
Im a little low on funds so I decided that I would go about upgrading my stock 2006 cobalt to a 2007 factor radio. But the f-ing harness doesent fit. All I want is the ability to play my ipod in my car without a wireless fm transmitters. They suck. Any suggestions on upgrading to the 2007 stereo.

Please check the stickies before asking.... Or do a search...
Just get an after market hu... Don't have to get a full DD navigation, dvd, sat radio, just to play an ipod. There are several hu out there for cheap that can play the radio/cds/ipod

Quick answer is no... yes its been done by one person (SilverSS/SC) but in the end some of the functions were lost and most of the buttons were backwards. He knew someone that worked at gm and had extensive knowledge of the tech 2 software... even then it took quite a while and barely worked. heres the thread about swap

You can buy the HU (head unit) im trying to sell, dirt cheap. Plug an aux cable and run it to where you are gonna sit your ipod and you can hook your ipod/laptop up to it. Just a suggestion though.

There is an iPod cable you can get at like best buy or whatever, but F that, they're like 12$. I just stole the ghetto cable from my dads work. but if you don't care about branding and color cable, the "Ghetto" one is like 2$ haha...

Lol, I know. But you can plug in your laptop with the iPod cable. :P
Plus, I just start it on one song, put it on random and dont pick again, its not like im gonna load it up with music I dont like so I have a need to skip.. lol.
Plus, my little 2$ cable was cheaper... haha.
