adding amp to stock sub..

can the stock sub in the cobalt withstand an aftermarket amp? or am i gonna have to buy a new speaker and amp..

i searched for help on the topic, but nothing came up... thanks for the info!

I just did this. It can handle it and it louder than stock/ but it distorts like crazy

ahh, thanks man. guess i'll pick up a new speaker and amp. do you happen to know of any shallow mounts that will work in the stock box?

i would recommend a whole new sub & enclosure. For the $ and trouble your gonna spend on effin with the stock stuff you could have done something WAY better.

my personal choice in your situation. you cant go wrong with JL. it will bang.
