Aftermarket Amp with oem pioneer sub.

Would anyone know of a way I can connect a aftermarket amplifier to the oem pioneer sub?Is there a way I can splice it maybe?I did spot this on ebay, let me know if this would work. http://cgi.ebay.com/CHEVROLET-COBALT...item5d241afad9

Or this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Chevy-COBALT-09-...item519143be12

Use a LOC on the stock line coming into the amp, connect your amp as normal to the sub. It's a DVC sub so get an appropriate amp. It's not designed for a lot of power, I ran it with a smallish amp I had around, got a much stronger hit from it, but by no means was there any major bass. Did a nice job of filling out the sound of the stock system though, I thought.

Hm ok,I still have another sub in my old car that I need to pick up in Chicago still. Its a Fusion subwoofer,so I may end up hooking that up instead, since the fusion amp wont get out of safe mode.I will try the way you have yours set up,to see how it is.

Grab signal off stock rear speakers, and pass to a good LOC, like a Navone (look up David Navone)

http://davidnavone.com/cart.asp?14&pid=362

As a plus, it comes with remote trigger logic, which saves you from having to run a remote wire.

What about installing one in a base model? There is two red (+) wires and two black (+) wires coming from the sub. Do I put them together by color and hook it up to my amp or bridge it?

in that case you want to hook it up in series. get a 9v battery and touch it to the red and black until the sub "pops"... those wires are one voice coil and the other 2 are the other voice coil. get the black wire from the 2 wires u just used to pop the sub and connect it with the other red wire you werent using. then use the single red and single black left over wires to run to the amp bridged

I'm using the factory subwoofer and Rockford Fosgate Punch Overload PS300-12 300-watt 12" powered subwoofer I took alligator clips and clipped them onto the six by nines and used the pre amp speaker level inputs to hook up the added system. I did it this way cause i didn't want to change the factory head unit like i have done multiple times before. I like using just the factory unit in this car. The sub works great! It isn't as loud as it could be if I hooked it up via rca but it sounds great in the car. Louder than what i was expecting.
