Aftermarket head and warrenty

So I have heard that if you have any problems with electrical in your car, and you modified your stereo, your electrical is then not covered under warrenty. I want to install a video deck but I have heard from a few people (including some GM repair guys) that this could be the case.

Can anyone let me know any personal experiences?

It all depends. If you have an electrical problem thats not related then your fine, but if you have an issue with the speakers or antenna then you could be out of luck. It all actually depends on how the dealer sees it. Ive worked as an advisor for chevy and even a cold air intake or a short throw shifter can void your warranty. Alot of the time i would let it slide but some people may just be a dick.
