Aftermarket HU Power Issues
All,
I'm installing a Kenwood KDC-HD548U in an 07 No Pioneer/No Onstar. Everything powers up and I get sound when I turn the engine on or engage accessory power, but the head unit powers off after 10 or 15 seconds and then powers back on. This repeats indefinitely. I took the HU to Best Buy and plugged it into their Kenwood harness and it stayed on, so I know there is a problem with the way I have it wired. I used the PAC C2R-GM11 harness. I think I need to run a wire to a fuse for "Switched power," but I'm not sure that this will solve my problems. Can anyone tell me for sure?

last year i got a Kenwood double din from crutchfield with the gmac harness and never had an issue but i soldered all of the wiring connections together. oh also there are i believe 3 wires from the harness that you need to just tape off and let go since they don't need to connect to anything.. that could be your problem too
