Alpine amp and sub

So Just Curious if anyone is running an Alpine SWR-1242D 12" Type-R With an Alpine Mrp-m500. If so what do you have your gain and bass eq set at. I just bought both brand new.

gain depends on the radio and bass eq should be all the way off

if you have an oscilloscope or rta near by you can figure it out perfectly....or if you know what to listen for you can do it by ear.

clarion radios usually dont distort till max volume... thats the slide track radio and is true for that... so you can go to 32 or 33 with no problem and have it on plus 6 for sub... make sure you have dze 3, and the other potions flat

Well thanks. i set it a little bit higher than 1/4.
And how can you stop screws from coming out of the box? LOL. I kept hearing the noise that sounded like the sub was bottoming out or something and finally was able to turn it up and be able to see what was goin on and the front of box and top had screws coming loose. How can i fix this?

is it bare wood atm? if the screws tight and the box is still holding up well then cover the tops with bondo or glue or something. possibly something on the bottom too

Yea its bare wood. I was thinking about spreading something over top of the screws or pulling the screws out and squirting some wood glue in the holes and rescrew them.
