Alpine Type-R Speakers and Headunit Questions
I'm getting front and rear speakers, and I want to install everything myself. I'm not an audio genius, but I've done basic headunit and speaker installation before. I just have a few questions. My headunit is on the way, its a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH. I've installed a few headunits, so i don't think installing it will not be an issue.
Here is the headunit.
AVH-P8400BH - 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 7" Widescreen Touch Panel Display, Bluetooth®, HD Radio™ Tuner, and Advance App Mode for iPhone® 4S and iPhone® 4 | Pioneer Electronics USA
I want the Alpine Type-R speakers for both the doors and the rear deck.
Here are the speakers/tweeter for the doors that I think I'm going to get. I confirmed that they will fit, by looking on Crutchfield.
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.
Here are the speakers for the rear deck that I want. I check these on Crutchfield as well. It says they will not fit, but I have a felling that they will. Has anyone used these? What did you do to make them fit?
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.
Now my list of questions.
1. What harness do I need to install the headunit to keep my door chimes and things?(No Onstar and No Pioneer System)
2. Will I need an amp for the speakers?
... If so what type will work?
3. How do the tweeters for the door speakers get wired? I know how to install them, just not how to wire them.

exact speaker I use (the rear 6x9's) ... great sounding! On the stock deck I have them faded one notch to the back to even out how quiet they end up being. But any aftermarket deck is more than enough power until you start taking things super seriously IMO
as for the front speakers, im interested how people go about getting them installed as well =)

I think I might get a 4 channel Alpine amp to match and power the speakers. As for the door speakers they will be a direct swap. For the tweeters I know I need to make a 1 inch hole to mount them in the door near the speaker, I'm just not 100% sure on how to wire them. The rear speakers, I was just told that they will fit by cranemaster (thank you very much).
The 4 channel Amp I think I'm going to get is the Alpine PDX-F4

I've noticed that All the prices listed on the manufacturer websites and on crutchfield, are really high. I've checked e-bay for all of things listed. I got kinda mad when I seen the headdunit I bought for about $100 less then I bought it for, but everything else is quite a bit cheaper on there. If all my calculations are right I'll have enough for my second P3, then I just gotta save for a new amp.

Pac-Audio
C2R-GM11 (No Onstar)
SWI-RC (Steering Wheel Control)
Metra Online
95-3302 (DDin Dash Kit)
40-CR10 (Antenna Adapter)
You will need a radio and chime retention module as turn signals etc are run throught the radio and accessory is grabbed through data.
Steering wheel control is also an optional feature but simple to install with the harness and direction reading for programming.
Dash Kit does come in a silver option (95-3302S)

for the wiring you want to hook up the crossover to the wiring used for the stock midrange speaker. then from there run your own wiring to the actual speaker and tweeter seperately. If you wanted the crossover out of the door on to the panel or just on the inner side of the door skin you would need to extend the stock wiring
If you are getting an amp then its a good idea to either forget about trying to keep the chimes OR buying a separate speaker for just the chimes and putting it in the dash or some ****. The module harnesses that make the chimes shouldn't really be amplified so
