Larger than required wire isn't going to cause a problem. I'd still try powering (fused)/grounding it directly off the battery to rule out your wiring, especially the ground. Check the manual for the amp and if the remote turn-on can accept 12-14 volts you can temporarily jumper that off your fused power wire from the battery to rule that out.

so i tried it all again and i did try different wiring and im not sure if thats what made the difference but i did notice that it is my RCA's that create alot of the noise when the car is running (alternator whine) there is still some noise just through the speakers but i guess thats to be expected. another day i will either rerun the RCAs to see what their deal is but for now im gunna have to such it up cuz i dont have the time.

next time you open it up run a ground wire for the HU to the amps in the back and cap off the ground in the harness. see if that helps (along with grounding the rcas)

thanks! hopefully i can get that all done. and then i can actually appreciate my system haha

So how did the headlights turn out anyways emp? do anymore led work?

i put the amber leds in the 3 top holes but behind the eyelid there not really noticable. Wired them up to the running light

Nice! yeah im too lazy at the moment to do anything with the headlights like i had planned. Got way to much on the go besides that haha

one of these days ill get on that. damn school interfering with my car! lol
