well it didnt work out........

it played longer but still ended up cutting out...... i think its getting too hot, should i try keeping the gain down and turning up the bass boost? i am lost because if i keep the gain too low they barely hit

yea.....

emp i have a question, on mono block amps with 2 sets of terminals, they both go to the same place....

so with that being said, could i hook each sub up directly to their own terminal and it would still be the same as this diagram...

so i would just run one pos and one neg from the subwoofer to one set of amp terminals

and then the same for the other subwoofer but to the other set of amp terminals

that my be my problem, i have the box terminals connected and then one box terminal going to the amp......

well i realized my problem....... my speaker wire wasnt tight enough to the amp terminals.

so with that being said, i think the louder i played it, the amp sensed this and would cut out

also now that they are tighter, they seem to play louder with the gain lower and the bass boost off

yea, i could have had it wire wrong since mono amps are now coming with 2 sets of terminals.....

from my understanding that is so u can connect 2 subwoofers and it connects them inside the amp instead of u having to wire them together than to the single terminal

now i got it down.......

Yea you’re right on the mono amp. I think it’s stupid to put two terminals on it, but I can’t tell the manufactures what to do so I deal with it.

I like my install to look clean and the less wires I have to run/see the better.

And I just think its stupid to put what looks to be an "A" and "B" channel on a mono amp when people might not know what they are doing when they are hooking up their system and confuse them. One set of terminals makes it easy you cant really mess that up (unless you reverse polarity.)

No offense but if people don't know what there doing they have no business trying to hook up an amp, and if they don't know how hook up the speaker wire to them then god help they should have it done by a pro.

IMO speaker wire twisted together at the amp= ghetto
Looks much cleaner the other way, besides, if your box holds 2 subs but they are sealed off from each other (meaning there is no way to run wire from one sub to the other) then you have to run 2 seperate wires, two terminals at the amp makes it look nice .

BTW- Every amp that I have seen, that was mono and had 2 terminals on it, told you exactly why there were 2 terminals in the owners manual.

It comes with time man. The more you work with something the more familiar it becomes.

If I had to count the number of cars Ive worked on i'd say up around 1500+
