amp for OEM sub, size matters.

i'm looking at an amp for my coupe to drive the OEM pioneer sub. any suggestions? ideally something small that can be mounted out of the way. i'm not sticking it on the back of the seats or middle of the floor or anything.

Check out crutchfield.com they have some nice small amps that would be perfect for our sub just remember u dont need a big amp to push our pioneers.

yah I wouldnt try anything over 100 watts for that little guy, and you can porbably fit the amp in the spare tire well.

dont go anywhere over 200 watts u could get a rockford amp that i have from best buy at 89 bucks its a 200 watt brigable 100 watts per bridge its perfect amp for that maybe u could do 100 watts to ur interior speakers and 100 to the stock sub. u might not even notice that much from the sub maybe just a little bit just spend 250 like i did and get my system.

well, i really want the enclosure just for neatness of mounting and not taking up a lot of room. if the speaker tanks, i'll just replace it, but keep the neatly molded box.

remember the stock sub is a 2 ohm DVC so in series that would give you 220w rms and once the stock sub blows you can get a 4 ohm DVC shallow sub like the rockford p3 and let it rip at the 400w
