Antenna

Does anyone know if the antenna cable disconects just in the back of the radio or before it? because someone snapped my antena off and i need a new one now

I'm guessing you mean somebody snapped off your antenna off the back of the car. You should be able to just replace the mount on the back and put a new one on. If the mount is entirely gone then I think your going to have to unhook it from the back of the headunit. Pretty sure there isnt another disconnect anywhere between the antenna and the headunit. Not certain though.

yeah the part where it screws in snapped off but i was looking and it seems as if it is one part

Can you disconnect the antenna wire from that piece?

no its crimped in it looks like to me

So I'm guessing you dont want to run another antenna line. I just looked at my service manual and it appears that the wire is in fact crimped to that piece, I didnt look too hard but it appears that it is one solid line up to the dash unit.

If I was you I would trace the antenna line back from the antenna towards the head unit to physicly check if there is another disconnect

yeah thats what i was wondering if there was another disconect but i will probaly just get a new one

im pretty sure its a standard motorolla plug at the antenna

it unplugs. i had a shorty on and when i went to take it off it snapped the stud. so i got a new 1 from the dealer
