any pioneer techs on here?

like title says, is there anyone on here that has access to pioneer service manuals or such. I have a avhp5000dvd, and when i hook up straight power and ground there is a blinking red light on the unit. i cannot figure out if there is an internal fuse in the unit, but there is a fuse on the power wire. thanks

I'm not a Pioneer Tech, but here are the factory manuals. Not sure if you have these or not. Are you only hooking up a constant power and ground? What about the switched power?

Yeah I have the constant power hard wired and the ground at the moment. I'm just trying to get the thinv to chirp. All the wires are correct. Even still though the power and ground should open it up. Its a seven inch flip out

I'm thinking he doesn't.

You need to hook the red and yellow wires to power and the black to a good ground or it isn't going to work.

ive done it in the car 2 different times, this time i am just hooking it to the battery to get it to open up. im running the switched and the constant power to the battery and the ground to the battery. i talked to pioneer and they said in theory this should work. i am getting power to light an LED but they said is it enough power to run the motor for the flip out is the question.

to the battery? If you have both ACC and constant hooked up to constant and ground then it should turn on and it woudl run off the stock power and ground wires in the stock radio harness. If your runnign 10ft of 18g from the battery to the back for power and ground then yes thats probably not going to work so well but even then it might. If your really just wanting to see if it works get the unit and bring it to the trunk and just touch the acc/constant and ground. the red light should light up and once u hit source it should turn on. If not then the unit is bad or the fuse in the unit is bad/non existent (i know for one of the pioneer video units they didnt include a fuse for some fucked up reason)
