Ya, you would have to buy an extra harness, which from the instructions, looks like a PAIN to program. I never bothered doing it in mine, I never really used them anyways. I'll probably hook it up one of these days, I'm also gonna paint the black dash kit matching silver one of these days.

Ive long since decided if I was going to replace my headunit it would be with a double din nav unit. But being an 08 with onstar and the pioneer system as well as steering wheel controls that adds to the cost wiring wise.

ya i know. I use the USB for nav, just plug my phone into the that, and use the nav on my phone as it charges. If your really savy you can get the nav lady on the phone to talk through your speakers.
/ I had a d2 in my last truck, and the nav part was a pain in the ass on it. Also I had having to update the dvd discs that was a pain. Thats why i use my phone nav for like 5 bux a month, it constantly updates and gives me traffic too.

i would go to wal-mart. if your getting a single din dash kit you want a good name so that it doesnt crack, but since its double din it has no storage compartment and therefore any dash kit would do. i bought my dash kit at wal-mart for my touchscreen double din and have had no problems. plus it was like 15 dollars cheaper than anywhere else.

for the cobalt? the walmarts around here only carry the real generic kits and nothing specific like the one we need. and yes while its nto as big of a deal as a single din getting a good dash kit vs a shitty one will make a difference in not only how it looks but also how well it is held in the dash

ok guys so i bought myself a pioneer avic x910bt and i will be installing it myself,is it hard to mount the bluetooth mic and gps antenna on the car? i think that might the hardest part for me.i want to mount them but make it look good.i dont want the wires to be showing..and im guessing i dont need a wiring harness for my 06 cobalt ss? i looked for it on crutchfield and says there is no compatible wire harnesses for this car.so i guess just match the wires with the stereos' wires..i will give it a shot.just havent had time due to work and still have to buy the dash kit,i will let you know how it goes.if you guys have any advice on my install i would really appreciate it.thanks
