Audio Capacitor Help

Ok so here this the CAP I bought.

BOSS AUDIO SYSTEMS | ENTERTAIN YOURSELF

Ok so heres my question. I have never installed one of these so.

If my Wiring is correct is goes

Battery + to Cap + to Amp +

Then the Negative side

Cap - to ground Amp - To ground

IS it normal for my cap to stay on? I dont see a remote wire to tell it to turn off.

Shouldnt cause any issue unless you leave the car sit for a long period of time. I am not a fan of caps so I might be the wrong person for any in depth info. I usualy try and steer my customers more of upgrading the electrical system battery's and Alt. before resorting to a cap.

Because its literally a Mexican flea market. Everything is in spanish. In the summer they come up to cut tobacco, we've got a couple of little mexican stores too. Also check out the consumer report on BOSS

A capacitor is just like a battery so it doesn't really go off like an amp would. And it doesn't drain power from your battery, just itself.

Yep, act like its a small battery. Also if you just bought it, see if you can return it. There are small lightweight batteries for car audio that work way better than a cap.

i think he means the digital display as far as what is "on or off" but your right a cap wouldnt drain power from the battery if its fully functional. if its busted then ya it will **** some **** up good

Honestly the only cap style setup id run would be the batcap. Which is a small battery and cap together.

Otherwise if you are truly pushing that much power then a second battery is a much better option. Ive always viewed caps as crutches and often times they dont do much at all.

Ive been to many of the local db drags and soundoffs I dont think ive seen a cap in a single vehicle there. Lots of 2nd 3rd and 15 battery setups though

i agree with you 100% but you cant really compare a competition setup to a daily driver. Most competitors are just random people who sign up and see what happens type deal but almost everything a true competitor does is counter productive to listening to music. the cars that win world championship trophies are really just cars meant to win trophies.

im just saying theres a very small amount of things that you can get away with doing in your ride because a competitor did it in theirs

True though my buddies has 2 treo 12s with an mmats amp for the sub and dd main speaker amp. He runs a spare battery to keep it up and its in his daily driver envoy. Sounds pretty good. He does 141db in the envoy not pushing it all the way to its limit.

But yeah most of the people that show up to this place are true competitors (mach 1 audio in washington missouri)
