AVIC D2 INSTALLED (what is teh 56kay??)
After wanting this HU since the day I picked up the Balt, I got an unreal price on it still new.
Also got the SIR-PNR1 Sirius tuner, fits perfectly under the pass seat. GPS and SAT tuners are under te dash vent trim, it just pops right off.
Used the PAC SWI-PS for the steering wheel controls, works perfect, no lag at all
the bracket from hell, after I beat the **** out of the bracket, I found out it was held in by three 7mm screws (same size as all dash screws, if im wrong on the #)
After removing the bracket, all sorts of room
Mounted up up the Metra kit, and new HVAC controls
Reverse wire, light green
VSS, used C2 C62 gray, wire. Might switch to PCM wire, but its working for now
Audiovox backup cam, comes built into the frame for $130 at Best Buy
pre-black HVAC
All buttoned up
More pics in my gallery, whatcha think?

I got a nice hookup on the HU. My total cost, with all the harnesses, dash kit, SIRIUS tuner ($60), backup camera ($130), black climate controls ($20) and the SW control adaptor ($60) was just over $700, and I did all the installation.
Thanks bro, just what I was going for

Audiovox makes it, but check out best buy, they have them on the website,,, $130 bucks.. I was prepared to pay $180-200 for the pioneer cam alone, so this is a sweet deal, super easy to install, no drilling, and it actually has a built in mic, if your HU has inputs for audio on the reverse channel, mine doesnt

IMHO, Not worth it to pick up audio from my bumper. I might try it once though just to see how it does picking up exhaust sound,,, but I love the way it works right now. I'd rather have it kick on when I throw her into reverse, than to hafta shuffle through source first
Thanks bro, I probably would have never bit the bullet if I didn't have such a good deal fall into my lap

^Thats what I was saying, might be kinda cool for exhaust noise, but I'm too happy with the way it all works right now to change it up.
******
I'm not getting a solid speed pulse where I have teh VSS wire tapped, so when it warms up I'll re-do it using the PCM lead Zinner talked about. But for now everything is working great. I just seem to be stuck in Simple Hybrid, as this VSS isn't good enough for the 3d hybrid mode.
But it still tracks more than accurately enough for my needs. And all the vehicle dynamics are registering just fine,,, so it's only a minor complaint.
