AVIC-D3 trouble shooting need help!!!

So, I recently bought an AVIC-D3 player off a buddy of mine, and it didn't work, long story short, it need to be sent out for warrenty work, Well it was sent out for work and was fixed and sent back to me. now I installed the radio in the car and it now works but, have I have no sound? now im useing factory speakers and stock sub. i checked all wires and nothing was loose. other thing is i didnt use the expenisive harness either, for i dont have on star in my car. now my friend also has the same radio in his car hooked up the same way and it works, hes just hard to get a hold of... any ideals everyone?

i forgot but i got the d3 also and mine works, but there is a harness iam pretty sure or u have to bypass the stock something in order for it to work. i did mine along time ago, ur gonna wanna amplify all the speakers separately, the head unit doesnt give full sound as the factory head unit.

i really couldnt notice the sound differance in my buddys car to mine stocl so im not worried about that i just want to have the darn thing work lol

doesnt anyone still have any clue whats wrong of if i missed something?

you neet to hook up the remote wire to turn on the stock amp

your 100% then it should work where can i tap in to the remote wire for the amp to power it?

Take the blue and white wire from the HU and tap into the I think its the pink wire from the car

no im not 100% sure of anything witout seeing it in person. for all i know you dont have anything hooked up at all but im pretty sure thats the issue and it makes sense

I think what was being said was if you don't have it hooked up, then it is an issue, it just might not be the only one

there should be a blue or blue white wire on the 2103 harness you have (the actual wire color running thru the car is pink) you want to connect that to the blue white off the pioneer harness

well thank you very much that was the problem, so not that thats solved the Radio works but when you put a cd in the cd plays but wont play any sound and same for a dvd it plays but no pic or sound. but if you listen to the radio it plays sound? weird? any ideals? note im not the person who did the wiring im just trying to get it to work now? this is the last issuse that im having thou with the radio for i have checked everything else? p.s how the heck do you do the screen calabration and the time set for the clock too.

lol who ever is hooking it up for u isnt paying attention. The wire color off the pioneer harness needs to be blue/white (remote) not solid blue (power antenna)

clock and screen calibration should be in one of the menus. Its very valuable for you especially if you gonn use this thing for a while to littereally go into every option you can find. you wont remember them all but it will help you down the road when you need to set something or change something thats weird
