battery keeps falling over in trunk
alright so i have 2 yellow tops in my trunk (above carpet)
there is one on each side and there sitting in the spot where the stock sub is on teh SS's
the driver side one stays up just fine, but the passanger side one ALWAYS falls over now, pretty much everytime i drive i can hear that bitch tip over, i have a ton of velcro on the bottom of both the batteries, but it still tips over, ive tried putting stuff under the battery so it leans the oppisite side so it wont fall, but guess what...it still falls over
anyone have any ideas on what i can do? i have no idea since my drivers side battery is fine but pass. one is fucked...
heres a pic of the battery that falls over....the amp inst in the trunk right now, but when i put it back in i dont want my battery falling all over it.

If you really want to stay with the velcro thing: it's taller than it is deep = top heavy, so just slap some velcro on the side and lay it down. It'll try to slide vs. tip over. Optima's are dry-cell batteries so you can mount them in any position you want.

my wiring is set up for that position, and im willing to bet id have to **** around with it a bunch to get it perfect again. also, it would look real werid IMO to have batteries laying on the side. and to the other posts, i would bolt it down but the only thing under it is the carpet, the the chassis metal and id rather not drill in to my car anymore.

....then you answered your own question. Like stated before why not reroute the cable and turn them on their side since they are a dry battery. Then the velcro could work, I think. The other thing is in a crash those batteries are going to go flying if velcro'd down. For safety concerns Id do a bolt/strap setup.

yes sir
I got a brilliant idea ... go to a shop and pay someone to do it. You are very lucky that the battery hasn't toppled over and hit your amp shorting out the system
Your ghetto ass velcro trip and doing nothing but wasting your time and money

If you want the easiest solution, side mount it for better stability.
Your only options are to either bolt it or make it more stable. Otherwise, get comfortable with it sliding around, but it's a matter of time until it shorts somewhere.

I'd hope his sub box is large enough to block projectiles. I'd be more concerned of shorts and battery damage by a rolling battery.

anyways, i found this little metal piece that i can partially slide under the battery and it has this thing that sticks up and keeps it from falling over, and you cant even see it
id be more concerned with my 500 dollar sub being used to block like a 50-60 lb battery
