people seem to like the optima batterys, wanna put one in my ss/tc, question is, whats the diff between blue, red, and yellow top? what one is best? (i run my batt dead sometimes by leaving stuff on) about how much do they cost? and most important, how do u guys make em fit in the car? they are a little to tall for where the batt sits

They fit fine, I had a red and yellow top in my LT. Had a red top for a little bit to try and get rid of my dimming problem. Swapped it out for a yellow top, minimized the dimming issue I was having with my subwoofers.

Red top are pretty much normal batteries but with the AGM technology.
Yellow top are deep cycle and can be run lower without damaging them.
Blue are marine and I don't know much about them.

Try reading up on their website about them. www.optimabatteries.com

Nope, I had no problem fitting it under the floor. O'Reilly's carries them normally.

the blue top is taller and works fine, i had it in my car for about 2 mins and traded a friend for her yellow top

The blue is for like boats so it can sit for long periods of time and start right up like u just drove that day

red top has the best cca and warranty. yellow top has deep cycle so best if ur running heavy electronics. blue top is really only good for marine use. like it works for cars but i wouldnt really recommend it

what do you mean a normal battery? if ur battery is fucked now then you cant do much of a comparison of what it can and cant do. also keeping ur hids on with the car off isnt something id recommend but if ur going to be doing it then yes yellow top

well when i retune my car the lights cant be shut off and i have to put a charger on the car or the batt runs dead. and my batt is finished. iv run it dead so often by accidently leaving stuff on. seriously i leave radio on for 10 minutes and it wont start. dealer says its fine, bs. but ya im gonna order one from driver fx since nowhere else i went to look seems to have em, fricken walmart has read tops but can get yellow tops, which i think is bs, cause if u can get one type from a supplier u should be able to get any type of that brand name.

so what one do i get the d34/78 or the d34
the 34/78 has side termanals more reserve, is smaller a little. pretty much thats the diff

right well im saying yes get a yellow top but u cant compare it to ur battery bc ur battery is trash. even a stock replacement will last longer then that... but u need to fix ur lights issue bc if ur lights are basically on 24/7 then doesn't matter what battery u have it will die and die quickly

right thats what im saying ur battery is dead so even a stock replacement is going to take longer to drain and work better. a yellow top will do better then that. just need to watch the hid staying on and baby the yellow top to make sure it lasts for u

Well after tons of searching, Walmart, Costco, napa, Canadian tire in Winnipeg, I asked a girl I know at Canadian tire steinbach who isn't lazy and actually looked into it, u can get optima battery's there, have to order them out of the performance catalog they have. Sweet deal, getting my yellow top ordered today

well installed yellow top, trunk floor is a little lifted up due to positive wire sitting high. negative hookup is busted so i cant get it totally secure, gonna get a new end tomorrow, cause im sure it will pop off with driving over some bumps

i highly recommend not driving it. loose terminals cause a lot of heat and can melt the terminal right off of the battery.

also there seems to be a little bit of confusion regarding the colors:

red top = starting only. 3 year free replacement warranty.

yellow top = dual purpose deep cycle. 2 year free replacement warranty.

blue top(marine): there are two different versions. one starting, one dual purpose deep cycle. The starting is the exact same construction as the red's, just with different terminal configurations and a 2 year warranty instead of the 3. The dual purpose deep cycle is the exact same construction as the yellow's with the same warranty. They just have different terminal configurations as well.

I used a yellow top in my Explorer for 2 years with my 2 JL6s pounding away. I've seen bad reviews on them in the past but so far nothing lately.
