Best Car Speakers....

CDT has a component set that consists of a pair of 6.5" and 2 sets of tweeters which seems kind of odd. Has anyone heard this type of set-up?

Honestly Diamond has some nice 6x9s and they are about 190 each.. then they have the most amazing 6" or even 6.5" door components
as for subs.. I would go with the RF power subs youll only need 1 10" or you could get Diamond D3's they range from 8-15" they are amazing thats what I have in my balt

INFINITY! I got all Infinity interior speakers, 4- 12" Infinity subs and an Infinity model 1211A 1300 x 1 RMS mono class D amp. Best system yet out of around a dozen.
Technology. Performance. Design.
Infinity is simply perfect.

I agree with all the posts from above that not everyone has the same tastes... but personally I just put together a pretty sweet system buying the stuff off of ebay... i got quoted at best buy for $1700 plus installation for the following... got all the stuff off ebay for 1100. It's all ALPINE for the purpose of a parallel system, and at this point i couldnt be happier... i blow those whack ricers with stock speakers and one 15" sub outta the water ;-) Also, all this stuff had more than one available, so if interested, i'd check it out:
CDA-9883 Deck - cell phone blue tooth, mp3/ipod
Alpine 6.5" 2-Way 250/50W Type R Coaxial
Alpine 6x9" 3-Way 250/50W Type R Coaxial
Speakers Run on 4 Channel F250 Alpine Amp Doubles RMS output to Speakers (18W-40W)
Two Alpine 10" Type R Subs 1500/500W
Subs Run on Mono M850 Alpine Amp - 1800/800W / 2 = 900/400W per Sub
I'm very proud of this system because not only does the bass hit, but my mids and highs have a whole new level of clarity. Amping the speakers did wonders for sound quality and I highly recommend it.
First aftermarket system
Pioneer Deck
Pioneer Speakers 6.5" 200/40W 6x9" 220/50W (3-Way)
Two Kenwood 900W Amps running 4 300/150W 10" Dual Subs
... this system had a lot of BOOOOOOM compared to the stock system, but no sound quality or consistency.

Yes I am over the BOOM stereo as well. I don't need to show off, I want to listen to my music. I just suggest to everyone go with sound quality and a parallel system install. The brand and styling is your personal preference. You will have to pay some good money though. I use Alpine Type R components up front. But I also like Infinity. Just be sure to get the Kappa series, not reference. Someone was selling some on Classifieds for a great price.
Here we go.

I would jump on that as soon as possible!

In my opinion, better than stock, especially since you can amp them, but no way near compares to R components. It depends on the application, but I think the average person would be pleased with either Alpine S or Infinity Reference. I did have Alpine S in my old truck, which replaced Pioneers. That was a great upgrade. Then I decided Rs and I was even more satisfied. Again, that is my preference, yours is different.

Well for right now I enjoy my pioneer system. But when I go aftermarket I am going with all Audiobahn. In my opinion there is nothing better I have never had a prob. with them.
