**edit** Well it seems that if if you have any of the 07's with the pioneer system, you do in fact need the GMOS-LAN-04 So just to update, you need the special harness if you have Onstar OR the Pioneer system. **/edit**
I just picked up my own 07 SS/SC 2 weeks ago and I'm looking to put my old deck into my new car as well.
From what I've heard and read all over these forums, you do NOT need any special LAN harness *unless* you have Onstar and want to keeps its functionality. I'm sure several other people can back me up on this too.
I'm not sure about the XM though, however after listening to XM for the last 2 weeks I've decided it's not worth the money to me >.>
I just want my subs pounding again =(
If someone else has an 07 and can tell us exactly where they got their harness from, it would be great (a part number would be even better!)
Thanks in advance.

Actually, thats wrong. I called metra today to ask specificly about my BASE 07 that has 0 options. The answer I got was if I wanted to keep everything (Door chimes, Seatbelt chimes, TURN SIGNAL chime (which is something Ive never seen mentioned) And the RAP Circuit (Thats what keeps the radio on untill you open the door) then you need the GMOS-LAN-03 (not the 04 on the base stereo) which Ive found for $108 all over the net. If you could do without all that (well it keeps the RAP circuit) then you need the XSVI-2104 (which I havent found forsale online as of yet) Hope that clears some stuff up. Also if you go to metras website ( www.metraonline.com ) you can look up youre car there and it will give you the right PN's

Ok maybe I'm not reading enough... but... the 3Sixty would keep the door chimes/warning chimes/etc..... how? Or Just does it allow you to hook up amps/speakers more easily?

You take the line outs from the radio and run them to the 3Sixty. The 3Sixty is a fully functioning EQ that allows you to tweak all the channels to your hearts content. You Plug your amps into the 3Sixty. From there its the normal amp to speaker thing.

Well that makes perfect sense. Was thinking of just keeping the factory head unit plugged in, and was having a hard time figuring out how to hook up an amp to it and keep all the bells and whistles.

Pretty much what the 3Sixty.1 is designed for. I think another company makes a cheaper unit, but if you want the full eq capabilities then go with the 3Sixty. You will need a laptop or pocket pc with bluetooth to edit the eq though.
