Best speakers known?
My girlfriend's 06 LT Cobalt's speakers system is no good. Horrible bass. It's simply just no good.
What speakers do you know that puts out a real good bass, without having to add AMP or subwoofers?
Clutchfield is a real good websites, but there are so many to choose from. I would like to know base on YOUR experience for your Cobalt.

I have Infinity Reference series speakers front and back and I absolutely love them. Great bass and I don't have an amp or subs. I rattled the windows in my girlfriends car next to me. Plus they have excellent sound quality IMO.

Unfortunately, I'm hard of hearing, and my girlfriend is deaf, what she wants is to feel. Subwoofer would be the best, I know, but then again she travels from home to college frequently, so all the stuff won't fit because subwoofer takes up the space.
And with me being hard of hearing, I believe it's nearly impossible for me to tell the difference.
Dman, where do you find your Aline Type R system? What I find thus far, is that they are subwoofer set up.

You can probably find them for under $300, they are right on the edge of what the stock HU can power but they are absolutely the best bang for the buck in my mind. you have to have an amp to power anything better.

This is all a matter of opinion, I give it a half hour before someone rips Alpine apart. Personally I have Alpine all around my car now with the exception of my front tweeters which are Infinity (Which I find make the best highs) but again its all a matter of preference.

If your looking for mainly bass, I'd say Infinity, JL Audio and Kicker all put out pretty good bass. If your looking for really good quality sound, I'd go with Focal or CDT.

Let me get this right,
Your hard of hearing and your gf is deaf.
And you want better speakers for your Cobalt?
F you just want to feel the bass a bit more and maybe have a bit better sound, swap out your rear 6x9's for something better, the 6x9's produce more bass than the front speakers and then get some of those small powered subwoofers that fit under your seat. They should provided that "feel" your looking for but they also run of of just a speaker level imput so no amp and box needed.
Here's a link to what I'm talking about

the only way your going to get "bass" out of door speakers is with hertz and a 4 channel amp. Most factory speakers have boosted midbass and getting that out of aftermarket speakers is honestly close to impossible.
along the lines of what spun was saying if ur looking to feel anything look into some aura bass shakers. they are basiclly big ass vibrators.
otherwise look into getting a stock sub box and throwing in something like a kenwood shallow sub and aftermarket amp
sry to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like ur about to spend a bit of money and get nothing in return. so i would recommend the stock sub idea or bass shakers and lastly the hertz door speakers. other then that tell her she cant have her cake and eat it too
