to big of an amp?
I just got 2 boston g5 subs (450rms each) and a t10001bd rockford amp, which does 1000rms at 1 ohm, i was wondering if having a amp that puts out more power than the subs can handle is a bad thing?
any help appericated

thjat's a matter of debate. really, you have to remember, that subs draw power, the amp doesn't force it.
now, going way way way over the rated power isn't a good thing,
also, IIRC, the g5 is a single 4 ohm coil, what does this amp supply at 2 ohm? or 4?

any competent installer would wire it at 1 ohm. 14.4 is voltage.
Just keep the gain a bit lower and don't go crazy on the bass boost (we normally dont use it but if u have a knob then just have really low gain and you'll be fine)
i really wouldnt worry so much because they should be able to tune it correctly. But just in case when your playing it loud check to see how much the subs are moving. if it looks too much then turn it down
