Blue wire to stock stereo

K so I got my system out of my Toyota mr2. Everything is hooked up except for the blue wire coming from my amp. Can I hook that up 2 my stock stereo. If so where?

the blue wire is a remote turn on for the amp, you could just run it to a fuse that only gets power when the key is in the on position (wipers, sunroof, etc.) I know emperor knows his audio stuff though, so if he has a better suggestion, I would go with his.

if you have the pioneer system then yes. if you have the base system then you have to get an acc from the fuse box

ok with the pioneer system the stock HU has a remote out for the stock amp. that would be the best way to get the remote for the aftermarket amp BUT you would want to amke sure u fuse the line and it could potentially be "harder" then getting it from the fusebox

what do you mean switch? The remote wire is what tells the amp to turn on. so if you ran it to the stereo then it would come on when the stereo comes on and turn off when the stereo turns off. If you run it to an acc fuse it comes on with the car and off with the car. The only other 2 options if you're not running it thru the car is hooking it up to the power so it stays on forever until your battery is drained and your car won't start (battery develops a memory and eventually dies as well) or not hooking it up at all and the amp is a nice shiny paper weight never turning on.

Some people will put a switch inline like myself so my amp turns on and off with the radio but i can also manually turn it off as well. This isnt necessary but an option some people utilize
