Brand new speaker blown?
Hey guys... so Tuesday night I got my Polk's in the mail. I put the DB651s up front and the DB691 in the rear. I am using my stock deck and I have a 300W amp/two 10" subs spliced to the rear speakers via a high level input on the amp.
Sounded great Tuesday night and Wednesday...but this morning I noticed that my front right door speaker was starting to crackle and stuff. Coming home today, there were moments where the speaker would break and crack the sound. Every other speaker is fine.
Any ideas besides the speaker? Is it possible to be defective from the factory?

Yea...but the thing is that it worked perfect for over 24 hours. The pinched wire is a possibility. I just gotta wait until I get time to pop that door open again.

Hopefully it's that simple. I think I should get some time to check it out tonight. I'll let you guys know. Thanks a lot.

It's cool bro...I understood it somehow. lol Yea any song...I typically listen to metal/rock and you can really hear in the lower octaves/double kicks. It should be a solid thump for a kick hit....its more like a buzz right now. But ONLY in that single speaker.

OOOOOOOK figured it out.
Popped it open and unmounted it. At first it looked okay...I was clueless on what it could be. I turn it sideways...sounds shitty. Turn it upward...no sound at all. Turn it upside down...sounds PERFECT! haha So I looked at the terminal and the crossover capacitor that was running to the woofer somehow got disconnected at the terminal.
I just soldered it back on and it's as good as new.
Thanks again for the assistance guys!!
