car pc
OK so like everyone else im in the market for a system for my car but im thinking of starting with the HU instead of speakers, then ill buy the subs and upgrade the doors and rears as needed. Now im not guru on audio equipment but I know how i want my car to look and sound and this isnt my first car with sound in it so i have a general idea of how **** works. As i was searching crutchfield.com today i came across this system and i thought it was a regular navigation system but to my surprise it wasnt. my first thought was why in the hell do i need all this stuff then i thought of all the pluses i get with this system and the one major one is, id never have to clutter my car up with a **** load of cd's/dvd's all over the place. and two it has navigation and i can be the first to say i crashed my car cus i was surfin on myspace at a stop light . just joking but this does seem like a kick ass system my only concern is ive never heard of this brand or this product so i was wondering what you guys think, especially you dudes that do audio **** for your daily jobs is this a good buy or no heres the link to the product
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...CPC1000&tp=144
let me know what you think.
in case the link doesnt work the product is called: Azentek Atlas™ CPC-1000

no one had any idea how good pioneer was either until someone tried it or kenwood or alpine or any of the name brand companies out now so thats not a real good reason not to try something just because no one knows if that was the case there wouldnt be ANY audio equipment out today.

If you have a spare computer, and already have at least a 4channel amp installed, i'm pretty confident you could get it all working in yur car for about 500

yea... plus touch screen.. and programs and such.. you're really not going to be able to do it for under a grand.. the easiest would be to use a laptop and wire it into the aux then use a touch screen 7" monitor custom mold it into the dash, buy the car gp program.. as well as the organizer programs they have in actual car pcs.. even if you have a laptop laying around it's going to be more then 1k.. and labor is going to be a pain in the ass

ive looked at everything and i actually have a broke ass laptop (screen is busted es todo) but price of all that BS is hella expensive. More importantly how "stable" is windows really. the answer is not at all. Get a aftermarket HU and think of all the bullshit they are made to withstand but a computer is fragile and interfacing isnt ez.
Depening on what your really looking for something like the kenwood 8120 is more then enough

lol dont freak out im just telling you ive herd of it and have the chance to be a dealer and try it but we dont have the market for those around here so chances are your not going to get any "reviews" from me on it. With something as exclusive as that your either gonna buy it and hope for the best or not. Either way your not going to find anyone you know or "trust" persay that can give an unbiased review

I just bought a headunit with a USB port and carry a flash drive. Buy a personal GPS and cling it to the window. All your missing out on is the fancy interfacing and the camera which can be done for like a grand with the Alpine/Pioneer touchscreen units
