Careful with your wiring!

USE FUSES!!
PROPERLY INSULATE!!
USE RUBBER GROMMETS!!

Otherwise this could be you!

A local guy had a nice demo truck... very clean install... lots of awards!

Then on Sunday he had an unprotected electrical short in his door poppers.

(Sorry for the facebook hosted pics... that's what the owner originally uploaded them as...)

Edit:
I forgot to mention, the guy was at work for the past 3 weeks (underground mine), and his insurance expired the Friday before. He was going to move the truck into the garage to update the tags.
It was valued at over $70,000 CDN. No insurance = $70k down the tube because of one $2 fuse and holder.

Damn... let this be a reminder to everyone to make sure all your wires are insulated, there's no exposed connections, and the current rating for your wires is not exceeded.

Damn that sucks.Id go after the guy that did the installation. If he did it,i guess hes sol than. For someone that has the know-how to do an install like that should know to use a fuse on everything.I bet you he wont forget to use a fuse next time he does an install.Or atleast he better remember to pay his insurance, lol.
