When I said JBL, what I meant was JVC I was on ebay and saw alot of JBL subs. Sorry I have brain farts alot!! Anyway, I'm looking for a unit that has enough wattage output for the power of my amp and subs. If I seem confusing, sorry I dont know much about audio equipment, just some name brand stuff!!! I'm a tard I know

Unless you buy Sony!

I always thought JL Audio made great bang-for-buck audio equipment. If I got back into stereo systems again, I'd probably check there first. But I still swear by my old Rockford Punch amp. 10 years old and still sounds great!

Edit: Ok, maybe I hadn't had it installed for the past 4 of those years, but it does still sound great!

Edit #2: Oops, sorry, just saw the thread is about head units! I've had Clarion and Kenwood, had problems with both. I'm happy with Pioneer, but I know alot of people swear by Alpine. I just never liked the look of any of them and they seem overpriced to me. I don't think I'd ever buy JVC, just because I bought a JVC DVD player for my home theatre system and after only a couple months it started sounding like a helicopter on take off. Too late to return it to Best Buy, and I'm too lazy to deal with JVC.

Actually, when it comes to head units, it is about the only thing Sony does right when it comes to car audio. Their head units provide really good sound quality. Another few name brands you can't go wrong with are Alpine, Clarion, and Eclipse. If you have the spare change to toss around on it and you are serious about your audio, look at the Eclipse CD8455. Beats the pants off any other head unit I've heard. Right now I'm using a Clarion DXZ955MC and I have absolutely no complaints. It all comes down to how much you are willing to spend I suppose. Just remember you can have all the speakers and subs in the world loaded into your car but if your HU is crap the system will show it.

Go with Alpine and you'll never buy anything else again. Their cheapest head unit is pretty much better than any Sony out there IMO. If you just want something that performs decently well, but looks nice, go with the Pioneer. Kenwood & Clarion are pretty good, but never really satisfied me as much as my Alpine did.

alpines are great, and they have a HUGE following. You will never hear anybody talk smack about an alpine. But there are better. Just depends on your budget.

Fusion

I swear by FUSION. For the last year I've had a fusion deck in my cars and they are wonderful. Everything in my old car was fusion and I am going to be putting in my fusion stuff this weekend in the cobalt.
