Changing the stock h/u with factory pioneer system?

I changed the head unit in my 06 ss s/c the radio powers on but no sound. I am thinking the amp isn't cutting on. Any help would be great.

It is more than likely the wrong wiring harness. This happened to me when I put my first aftermarket headunit in my 06.

you need to run a remote wire to your stock amp to turn it on, i had the same problem

Yeah, you need a remote wire to. We tapped into the wiper fuse located in the panel on the passenger side of the console. I think that is the right harness number.

The radio powers on and off with the switch. But I'm getting no sound.

Sorry miss read the last poast. wich wire is the remote line on the amp?

ok i dont have any special stereo options in my cay just the cd player and i had the same problem when i tried to put in the slide out dvd. i had full power but no sound. i think i had the wrong harness but the place where i got it said it worked cuz they always used that one. anyway crutchfield has one for like 1 something thats direct plug do i actually need that or would i have to run a wire i didnt think i had a factory amp. another quick qeustion, where would it be?

factory amp is under steering wheel, hook up your blue stereo wire to the blue aftermarket harness wire.
