Okay I have two sets (meaning 4 components) of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5" Components each at 4 Ohms and I can't decide rather to go with a 2 channel amp or a 4 channel amp... Which should I go with? I have tried researching and have read up on a few things. I was told that if I went a 4 channel that I would get lower THD. Is this correct? I was looking at the Kicker Amps but I don't know which to choose. Can someone give me the low down on what is the best thing to do?

so where you gonna mount them? 2 rear two front? how much rms? just find one that is slightly over or just at the total of all 4 rms

There 4ohm seperates right.
For a totall of 8 speakers.
If you went 2 channel you would have to find one that is good to run 1 ohm on each side or 1 ohm stereo (never seen one myself, but it may be possible). Try a 4 channel Alpine, or Rockford Fosgate.
If you bought those speakers than money may not be as much of an issue to you as it would be to some. I just bought a Digital Designs S4 (2x100+2x200@4ohms) its looking like its going to be a great improvement over my last amp that I had running my front end (Xtant 604x)
Its a bit more expensive but its worth it

^^^ if its a full on componant set even thou both the woofer and tweeter are 4 ohms the crossover shows a 4 ohm load to the amp. Sorta confusing how this is done since it cant be read with a meter but it works.

Basiclly a 4 chan is a bit harder to install but is normally made for using on 4 midranges so its sorta optimized for that. and a 2 channel you would wire fronts and backs in parallel losing the front to rear fade. 2 chan is generally cheaper then a equivalent 4 but watch out because all the cheapos that will sound like **** are 2 chans. If ur looking at quality gear (kicker Rockford infinity ect) then your good but usually any small cheap 2 chans will be worse for mids then running off the deck.

I'm sorry guys, I should have been more specific. The components are 4Ohms rated at the crossover. So it would be like this: 2Ohms wired on the left channel and 2Ohms wired on the right channel. I would have the components wired in parallel. Thanks creedin, Spun, & EmperorJJ1 for the input. Yea I'm definitely going with quality gear because I want to try to do it the right way. I was thinking about going with the Kicker ZX350.2 amp for the components. Its rated at 175x2 @ 2Ohms so that would be about 87.5 watts to each component crossover. The Kappa Perfects are suppose to hold 100watts RMS @ the crossover so I should be good to go. I know I wont have the fader control but I never use it anyway, actually I don't think I ever have, lol.

i dont have rear speakers so fading to the rear is really just a negative effect
