Cobalt and Equinox CD player

My sister got an equinox. It's an 05 and I noticed the CD player is very similar. Does anyone know if they are interchangable.

Well i doubt the 07 will work. i know a few cobalt members had problems using 07 radio in cars 06 and older.

As far as I'm aware they are interchangable. They both use the same kit and harness

The radios are VIN specific.
They will line up harness wise but will not just swap over.
You have to take it to GM and have them reflash it and even then there a 50/50 chance of it working.
I only know of one person that got it to work correctly but he knew a guy at GM so...

If the Radio is VIN specific then how do cobalts interchange radios? Same way?

yes the cobalts have the vin programmed into the radio so if its in the wrong car all it shows is "lock"

problem your going to run into is diffrent harnesses

the equinox uses the metra 2003 and the cobalt uses the 2103

on thing i just thought of thou you could get the cobalt harness and the eq harness and wire it up and it might work. only thing is i dont know if the gm lan is on them and im assuming its necessary for the stock radio to work

and im wrong again the eq and the cobalt are listed by metra as the same harness
