anyone foresee any problems with doing this in the cobalt? (if you dont want to watch, its an iPad integration to sit where the stereo is)

Yeah whatever car that is, it works. Ours... not so much. You could always use a smaller tablet, like a Galaxy Tab or something. Better 7" tablets will come it and then you could be a lot more flexible with projects like this.

haha glad i started before I read all the posts, i did a lot of research on how to make plastic and fiberglass and giving it a shot as well as this little mom/pop paint shop down the road (I'm in Germany) is helping me out with advice and all their experience, fabrication is probably 40% done and my wife has all the 3D drawings of it made up so the ipad can pivot and everything, the ipad starts at the top of the stock stereo and goes down to the top of the heat/AC knobs, but we are not building ours in, we are making a custom case for the ipad that will stick to the center bezel and when removed you wont be able to tell, that way we can keep the stock stereo (less likely to have my windows broken and **** stolen)

and correction, the original plan was to go vertical, if we build it out from the stock stereo it goes in horizontal, the pics i am about to post are the prototype of the horizontal integration
