Crtique my dream sound system please?

I want an Alpine type X system

1 10" type x sub

1 set of type x components

1 set or 6x9 type r

2 stackable Alpine PDX amps the 1000x1 and the 150x4

Rockford fosgate 360.1 don't think i need to 360.2

I think this system will offer supirior sound and looks. I like having all my components to my system within the same brand.

What do you guys think?, and what are the power requirements for this type of sysytem. I figure maybe an upgrade in battery and power cap may be nessesary, anything more?

It's really a matter of choice, but from what I have heard Alpine makes great head units and Amps, but lack a bit in their speakers. JL Audio make really nice speakers and subs. It's ok to mix and match head units, amps and speakers.

The more you can stay with one brand, the better it will sound. For example, Alpine does not test and modify there speakers to sound better with other brands (for obvious reasons). Keep in mind too, your system is only as good as its weakest link. Alpine is a great choice in my opinion, but do whatever sounds best to you.

I really admire Alpines acoustics, but I've never heard the type x systems. Is there a noticale differance besides price? Also I wanted to go with the Rockford signal prosessor because i heavily use my palm device even as a remote control for my tv, and the Rockford has the bluetooth input for the sound system. Later on I will invest inthe Alpine IVA thing but I kinda like the way the stock dash looks. My main consern is I don't want the radio to stick out any, I want that flush look and the IVA may stick out some.

Alpine subs IMO are not that gr8. My best friend has two 10" JL W3's with 1 Kicker 500.1 amp bridged to run both subs. It ******* pounds... seriously it makes tears come out of your eyes. Putting together a sound system is really an exact science.

You have to consider

SVC vs DVC
OHM load
RMS Wattage
Wire guage size
Subwoofer size and contruction
Type of enclosure
How much distance the bass has to travel in the area that it is in ( bass is louder when it has more air to breath )
Type of music you listen to ( which directly effects what enclosure you want )
Crossover on AMP

Keep in mind the size of the sub and the number of them does not mean it will be louder or quieter.

For instance those two 10" JL's my friend has hits harder than his neighbors 4 12" Punchs on an 1000 watt amp.

Go to crutchfield.com they have tools to help you

Id run JL Amps, I think you would be happier, I have Type R speakers with JL amps, and I think it sounds amazing, crystal clear at any volume, and it hits hard too. Im in the process of getting another 500/1 to run my other 12" type r However I have really taken a liking to Kickers component speakers, I will be running a set in my trunk in the spring..... 22 speakers 3 amps and 2 batteries........... I have a mixture in my car... Couple sets of Kickers, Couple sets of alpines.... a set of rockfords.... a set of pioneer tweeters and a rockford 6.5" woofer (center channel)

also.... i think 6x9's are garbage.... get a set of 6.5 coaxials or components..... I like the kickers because you can mount the tweeter on the speaker, or seperate.... just my 2 cents....

I would lean more towards the type r over the type x sub. Your gonna end up paying alot more for a sub that is not that much better than the type r. The type r can get loud but still remain to keep great sound quality as well. My cousin actually had a 10" type x and I wasn't impressed with it to much at all.
