it's a badass unit esp when the 2.1 firmware gets released for it... pimp config and capabilities - i'm betaing the software now.

i called for a gb on this way back when tnt was doing a gb on the interceptor (dh >>>>>> interceptor) and got an infraction for it. *lol*

Hmmmm, we'll see on this. I'd LOVE to commit to it, but I'm living paycheck to paycheck for the time being.

Let me give y'all who are on the fence a little testimonial action. I took my car to a TRUSTED family dealer. I had been taking cars there for 9 years with exceptional service. The VERY first time I took my SS/SC in for service, they kept it unecessarily overnight and when I picked it up, I come to find out that a salesman came in, got the keys from the assistant service manager and took a customer out for a TEST DRIVE in MY CAR. I was meticulous enough to catch them because they messed with some of my settings and I questioned until someone confessed, but it would have been a helluva lot quicker and easier to have something like this monitoring what was going on while on that test drive. I'm SURE it wasn't a quick and easy drive through the countryside

ill post more info on this unit.. info taken from cobalt performance parts..

* Universal OBDII multi-gauge displays over 100 parameters
* Connects to your vehicle’s diagnostic port
* Display 0 – 60 mph and ź-mile times with up to five other parameters
* Records maximum values for speed, rpm and water temperature
* Accepts one additional sensor, such as a wideband O2 sensor
* Backlit screen can be set to 16 million colors to match any interior
* Set visual and audible alerts for any value
* Built-in shift light capability
* Check and clear trouble codes
* Any parameter can be displayed on any screen, in any order, in any fashion!

Keep a sharp eye on your vehicle’s performance and vitals with MSD’s new information display, the DashHawk! Your vehicle’s computer contains a wealth of information and the DashHawk lets you tap into it all!

With the DashHawk, you can truly understand how your vehicle is performing ‑ which means you can drive more fuel efficiently on the road, race faster at the track, and spot maintenance issues before they leave you stranded. Since the DashHawk saves and records maximum values (password protected), you can also see how someone else has driven your car when you are not behind the wheel. The DashHawk displays all this information the way you want to see it, either as a bar graph or digitally.

Simply connect the DashHawk to the diagnostic port and you have access to over 100 parameters on 11 separate screens. Navigation through the screens is as simple as the push of a button. Values such as speed, engine rpm, oil pressure, coolant, oil and transmission temps, throttle position, engine load and a host of other parameters can all be viewed via the DashHawk.

As if all of that information isn’t enough, the DashHawk will also record 0-60 mph times and even quarter mile times! All of this information can be recorded (up to 90 seconds) and then downloaded to a PC. Once downloaded, you can graph the information using the software supplied.

Unlike conventional analog gauges, the DashHawk provides the ability to set both visible and audible alerts when a parameter such as speed or coolant temp reaches a certain value. Set alerts on rpm and the DashHawk also functions as an incredibly precise shift light. The unit can be used as a diagnostic tool by displaying trouble codes (along with a description of each code so you know exactly what the problem is). The DashHawk gives you the ability to clear the code and see if it comes back, which can save a costly trip to the dealer. There’s no need to worry about the DashHawk becoming obsolete either. With a simple Internet connection, MSD will be able to update your DashHawk with the latest vehicles and updated features.

possibly... have a vendor. post if u want in

Sorry We cannot provide a group buy on this item. MSD has new pricing structure that doesnt allow anyone that is a authorized dealer to sell below a certain price. We are already at that price and cannot go any lower without the possibility of losing our account. We are not willing to take that risk. Sorry guys

It all depends on when you purchased the MSD unit. They didnt start enforcing it until recently. Looks like nga beat me to it.

2.1 is great... a few of the new features (at least ones currently present in the beta):
  • setting up screens on your computer, then uploading all the changes to the DH, instead of configuring on the DH
  • staged alerts, 3 diff colors for diff stages w/in an alert on a pid (ie: blue at 5000rpm, yellow at 5500rpm, red at 6000rpm)
  • ability to customize startup screen (your own logo on startup, comes w/ ones for the SS, GTO, and some others)
  • 20,000 sample datalog vs 5000 sample in <2.1
  • categorized PIDs instead of that ungodly huge list
and those are just the ones i can remember from the top of my head.
oh, also i should add they are close to releasing the first add-on for the dashhawk, called the HawkEye which will allow you to display info from external sensors (wbo2, fpg, oil press, etc)

im not here to step on any toes...
so ill tell you it was VMS

sounds great bc3.. the startup splash was in the last version tho... categorized PID's.. thank god!... and i wish they would add the ability to connect the usb cable and make changes/pull logs, while its still hooked to the OBDII but powered off... it sucks i have to disconnect the cable from the back to hook my laptop to it in the car

relay to him theres a goat owner that wants 2.1 as well! :P

i doubt its anything with the firmware, its probally a hardware limitation, i have my dashhawk up on my headliner, so its a pain to disconnect the cable, i thought if i turned to car off so the unit would power off, i would be able to connect a usb cable as it was and pull the data off... no such luck
