Door sensor ground?
http://www.***************/forums/in...or-sensor.html
^^That's the thread I want to know some more detail.. (Is *************** blocked on here or something?? Because that's where the thread is..)
I want to do the same thing the OP is doing (When my door opens more than just my map lights will come on.) I know where the door sensor is and on post #5 Lankysean says: They are in the body of the car in the door frame near the hood of the car. Just open the doors and look, you'll see um. They don't come out so you gotta pull of the plastic molding to get at them.
What exactly is the plastic molding.. just the area around where is pushes back in?? And where do I actually ground my (-) wire? that thread doesn't show. And when I start to pull around the sensor I fell like I'm going to break it.
Thanks!

The map lights are switched on the ground side with a pwm signal. If you are planning on using them to operate a relay be aware that it will "chatter" and not last long as it is rapidly switched on and off.
If you are just using it to run LEDs depending on hiw many leds you use, you should be able to run them directly without needing a relay. I put in led footlighting along with LEDs in the dome and map lights and was able to use the map lights wiring to run it all without relays. The footlights, map lights and dome light all dim when the door closes. Above the headliner on the drivers side there is a constant positive, a constant ground and a switched ground. I think the switched ground is grey but you should either test it or look in the thread about adding a dome light to confirm.
