Door speakers

Well recently i just realized my front Left door speaker is not putting out any sound. Just the few questions i have are, is it more likely the speaker being blown, the cd player or the electrical. No sound is coming out of it what so ever, and when i put the bal and fade to front left, no sound at all, hence the speaker is not working. I took it to the dealership where i just bought it friday and they want 50/50 to fix it, i said screw u guys , i'll just pay to put new ones in that are better. I plan to put a new CD player and Subs in the trunk. Just to sum up, i am just wondering if its more than likely just a blown speaker, wiring, or the CD player. Any ideas from people w/ car audio experience!? thanks in advance

That happened to me, and it was just a loose connection. I popped the door trim off and reconnected, good to go. How old is your Cobalt?

there are three screws on the pannel (one by the door handle and 2 in the pocket thing with the silver trim around it) and the rest is pop off clips

yes pop off the mirror cover first. its above the panel. if the speaker was blown it should still be putting out some sound. so you prolly have a loose connection or a cut wire.

depends on what exactly is blown... can be a number of things. Also if your car has the pioneer package the top tweeter part isnt removable its glued on to the panel

...started working all the sudden, i think it may have been the cd, when the track was burned the levels were off, because it works fine now, on the radio and on CD. but then again it did not work on the radio the time before..hmm

I've got the same problem. I think water is getting in there. It seems to cut out when it rains or when I wash the car. As soon as I can get to it I'm going to take a shot trying to remove the panel and take a look.

If you just bought it on Friday they should be fixing it.
