is that even possible?

there are used stock subwoofers on ZZP, and i like that its small and all so i was thinking i could put another on the opposite side? is that possible of the stock amp would not take it?

please suggest

ya but i feel like the stock stereo wouldnt have enough controls and ****. my i think asked my brother once if i could put his box of 2 12 inch subs in my car with the amp he had and said some **** about the stock head unit would have to be replaced. so idk. if it is possiblt id definitely look into doing it. the amount of bass now is just a littttlleeee bit to little ha. wow grammar. anyways. i think it would be sweet. but lets see. ikeep checking this AMAZING thread idea.

well i have changed my headunit already to a pioneer, with ipod and the bass setting is really complicated but after 15 mins of ******* with it i got a decent boom but maybe the stock amp wouldnt push enough for two...?

uhmm.. it's not going to look stock... because it doesn't fit anywhere else.. you gonna stack them two deep? ..

I added an amp and a 12 to my stock head unit for a while, spliced into the stock sub wiring and used the high level input on my amps....

pretty sure when u point 2 subs at eachother like that it will cause sound cancellation and ****

ur best bet is to retrofit another 10" with a better amp in the stock box

i had thought about it, but unless you rig the trunk material to fit another stock sub on the right side.... idk.
i ended up getting two 12s with them facing in the cabin instead of the trunk, with a pioneer head unit, but since i switched units with a friend NOTHING has been working. i got the pioneer super tuner 3 D if anyone is good with model names. its an older one. the power works on it and the subs work, but the rest of my stock speakers do not... and i got another issue lol but im just ranting, ive gone a few days with only hearing wind and my engine

well i wouldnt mind boltin it on the rear of the rear seats... it would look stockier than a big box

Either read up on here on how to put a different 10 in the factory sub box or yank it out and put in a custom sub and box with a dedicated amp.

well this is what i believe, my new deck makes my stock pioneer sound amazing, so i thought i would put another stock sub to give it a bit more bass. because it only 70$ on zzp my question was will it work?

im not an expert, i cant even get my own headunit to work right now, but i suggest getting another amp, you could hook the other to the stock, but it may weaken it? you could always find out that way. get the sub, hook it up, see the result, then determine if you want an amp or not.

If you want the stock look then do what others have done.

Take out the stock pioneer sub and replace with a shallow mount pioneer sub and use an aftermarket amp to power it. theres a how to in the audio section I believe on how to do this.

at this point after reading a few suggestions i am tempted to do the stock sub replacement i have read that a while ago and that seemed like a really good idea!

pointing subs directly at each other sucks but thats the least of the problems with this idea. The left side is physically bigger due to the gas door being on the right side. also the stock amp has no power to begin with not to mention impedance wise it wouldn't match. so if you had 2 stock subs you could only wire it at half power meaning each sub would get 1/4th of the power it normally does stock.

If it didn't say pioneer then it would be cool to cut the box in half use the front as the face (flip it so it physically "works" and fiberglass the back to the specs of the right side. throw in 2 after market shallow subs and get a new amp (possibly the new rockford fosgate PBR300X 300wrms 6.75in by 4.25in) .... That would be very impractical thou you could easily spend half the cost on a standard ported 10" and get louder with less a chance of sub failure down the road

hey emperor remember me? i got the two subs and the two 6x9s with two amps? i dont think i needed the other amp, but i switched head units with my friend that helped me, and now only the subs work, i cant get the other speakers to come on.... any ideas? im sure its just a wiring issue, but the headunits are the same pioneer super tuner 3, ones just older than the other...

hmm so u swapped from one pionner to another one? did u do anything wiring wise or was it plug and play?

and the subs work?... amp turns on, all good?

yeah, same unit, differnt age. i can give you the model numbers, but i looked up the manual for the older one and it hooks up the same... wiring originally wasnt touched, everything plugged in, but just the subs worked when i went to put some tunes on...

ok 2 more quick questions. do u have the stock pioneer audio system and if you do are you using the module harness for it or the cheap one?
