Droid questions...
K I had an iPhone, but me an Verizon were constantly goin at it an Sprint had a promotion for a free EVO if you sign up, an my brother already had a family plan so you know wat I did
Anyway, got a few questions tho cuz it seems like Its been forever since I've had one...(had an evo before the iPhone)
1.general performance seems spotty, and a lot weaker since the last evo I had.. whats up with that??
2. I had my iPhone jailbroken before an liked the custom shiznit I could do to it. If i "root" or ROM my EVO, or watever... What advantages does it have really?? Like really really.....and whats a good one to go With?
3. Is there a simple way to connect the Droid with itunes? Mostly for the music..
AND
How do I connect the phone to the stock stereo? Least for Pandora?? Nuthin seems to work...
Umm... I guess that's it for now...
Oh an wats some good apps to get?
Thanks

Rooting ur phone gives you superuser access, kind of like admin rights on a computer which means you can install anything on your phone and perform any elevated requests, I rooted my sprint phone mainly for teathering, Sprint is truely unlimited and I have internet wherever i go ! its pretty cool and 4G is great in my area, once you root ur phone the possibilities are endless...Btw i have the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch, and I love it ! As far as itunes music you can just copy the music directoy over to your phone or the memory card and it will work just fine, you dont even have to use the itunes software, and i think the turbo ss comes with an aux. plug on the front where you can use with any phone

I specialize in Evos, damn if you were in Texas I could help you out lol.
To gain Root access, use a program called Unrevoked. It is plug and play. very easy
Once you are rooted with security off, start by installing Rom Manager PREMIUM, dont waste time with the basic, pay for this app lol. Now with Rom Manager, you can flash the ClockworkMod Recovery. That will be your key to everything.
Once the phone has flashed that, then there is whole world of Roms that you can begin to pick from. I run CyanogenMod 7.1. Its an AOSP rom so it will not look anything at all like HTC Sense. If there are some things that you like from HTC sense then there are apps for that.
The great thing about ROM manager is you can flash a new rom every other minute if you want lol. I hated how slow the original ROM was.
A few suggested apps:
AdFree Android
ApkInstaller
CacheMate
ES File Explorer
Handcent SMS
Flash Player
SetCPU
MSL Reader
Swype
Titanium Backup
Need any more info?

When I get home I'll post the rom and kernel I'm running. It's all based off the new Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich. Runs flawlessly. Smooth. Fast. Definitely more user friendly.

Honestly, I haven't found a bug yet other than the first boot up won't let you get the keyboard to pop up. Reboot fixes that, hasn't happened since. I haven't tried 4G since the flash tho. Dayton doesn't have 4G.... :/
Here's the link: [ROM][Updated: 12/18] IceCream Sense v1.1 - Sense 1.0 - xda-developers Make sure to grab 1.1, it was released sunday with all the fixes to the bugs. Again, I haven't had any trouble really.

Finally messed with custom kernels Tuesday night, gotta day I'm loving it. McRom's newest ICS 1.1 rom + updated radio/wimax/nv/pri + ChopSuey kernel OC'd @ 1.2ghz is amazing!! It's like a whole new phone.
