DVD/NAV and SUB/AMPCombo Questions

Ok

I just purchased the AVIC-N2 for my car.. Comes with XMRadio/Nav which is another part of the navigation that comes with the unit already to tell you about traffic slow downs, temporary construction, accidents etc.. Also comes with the voice reconigtion and remote and a 10 disc cd changer.. I might get the back up camera too (now sure not really needed).....

My questions about that is..

1) How do I bypass the motion detector to stop playing dvds... I don't want to ruin my deck since it's expensive.. I heard something about grounding out the ebrake then another one about some things under the deck.. So what is the right way?

2) Is there a bypass or something else you can add you allow you to watch DVD's or Play CD's while using the navigation at the same time.. Rather then having to keep the Nav disc in.. I have heard that you can load your route.. But sometimes you need to put the disc back in.. Can you get a harddrive or something to store the maps permantly..

3) If I put a 10 disc cd changer in a custom made fiberglass box that has the subs (mtx8000 and the amps (2 JL amps).. Do you think the bass will make it skip.. Now sure what one it is yet cause I havent got the items yet.. I don't use 10 disc cd changers.. But this is being given to me with the deck.. So I figure it I can put 10 of my fav cds in I will do it..

Next..

I have 2 MTX8000 (12") and 1 JL 500/1 (also a JL 300/4 non relavant).. I wanted to know if my JL500 will work well with the MTX subs... Now I heard JL underates, but how much.. These MTX subs say 400watt rms.. The amp is 500... But I wanted to know if this will be good enough power.. I don't want a huge pound, but I dont want it to be totally weak.. I was going to run that amp with a 12W7 that I had, but then I didn't want my trunk to take up alot of space.. But now I am not worried too much about the added weight of a fiberglass box.. I might switch to a W7 if I can get a buyer for my MTXs.. But I might just stay with them..

Reason I ask about the power.. Is I don't want to have a fiberglass box made to house the subs and amps all nicely.. If they will not work..

Help appreciated.

I can answer #3 for ya. I wouldn't do it. Granted the CD Changer is made to withstand minor bumps here and there, it's not built to handle a contant bass field on it. Run that changer somewhere in the car where it can be accessed at any time.

Yeah I pretty much figured that already.. Thanks for the verification
It's not that important to me, to even keep it.. I might just sell it.

Some components are badass when installed in the fiberglass box, but a cd changer wouldn't be one of them. It was a good idea though.

from wut i understand..how u bypass that unit..u have to one ground the parkin break wire and possibly put a switch on it. also there is a open slot on the stereo harness goin into the h/u. u want to have a groud wire going into that slot and it shold do the trick.

no...

i have this unit... ill answer all three

1: turn the deck over, theres a round silver sticker... peel it back... and you should see two points.. solder them together.. and p00f, bypassed... (THIS DOES VOID ALL WARRANTY)

2: no... there is only one slot... you can put the nav disc in, set your route and take it out... but thats it... no harddrives, nothing

3: dont do that... it will skip... also, why use a changer? either do MP3 discs or buy an ipod (thought the ipod interface sucks on the n2)...

and as far as the xm thing goes, its not the normal xm box... its a $300 kit... and it doesnt work in most cities... plus xm sucks lol...
