Dynamat vs everything else
Hey everyone,
I have been doing a lot of research on sound deadening my car and most paople have dynamat. I like the concept, but i definately dont like their prices. E bay is a lot better than best buy or futureshop, but there has to be something out there that can compete with dynamat.
I was looking at that "b-quiet" company and I like what I saw. It weighs less and apparently is the same material.
What else is out there?? Is dynamat really that good?? Thoughts, comments, pics, Anything would be great.

Dynamat and all those type of insulations are actually a construction type insulation. I bought a whole roll of the stuff thats 4'w x 100'L for less than you can buy the big dynamat kit for. So look around else were you can find it for chaeper for the same stuff.

I have the B-Quiet installed in my balt and i noticed a HUGE difference in road noise....the stuff is really sticky and does not seem to sag in the heat at all.....absolutly NO smell what so ever and really easy to install, especially since it requires no heat gun....i put it in at the same time i did my stereo system and i have very very minor rattles in the car....I also used sound deadening house insulation in between all the panels becasue there were lots of holes to stuff it and that **** worked wonders.....NOT A SINGLE RATTLE OUTSIDE THE CAR....i stuffed the trunk lid full and between the outside and inside panels...B-Quiet and sound proof insulation get 10 big thumbs up from me!!!!!!

Im wondering this too. B-quiet seems to get good reviews, ive heard e-dead sucks, that it is too thin. I already have my trunk covered in dynamat, not sure if i should just get another bulk pack off of ebay, or try some b-quiet

Wow that link took me about 2 hours to read and gave me ALL the info I needed to make my decision. I think im going to go with b-quiet. Their price is right and they are a canadian company so I wont have to pay any border taxes. I am in the process of finishing up my install on my system. Ill post pics when im done.

Second Skin is pretty much the best you can get, and Edead is crap, right along with dynamat. Second skin is just a little bit more pricey, but worth the extra few dollars.

wrong the constructions stuff is asphalt and the good sound deadener is butyl (rubber)... the easiest way to tell the difference is by smell. theres a small piece of oem deadener on the back of our trunk (beside the battery) and its asphalt smell that when its hot compared to a butyl mat

We have a car lab where I work that does extensive sound testing, and every once in a while they'll do a called in favor and do a custom install in peoples cars. They used to use dynomat but switched to a spray on insulator/sound deadner a couple years ago said that they had problems with the dynomat peeling off when it aged a little bit. Not sure what it is but I know its a pretty common thing you might be able to find at the local parts store.
