hey emporer, im JW if you still have ur tweeters in the stock location. I know allot of people move them a bit closer to the mids for better imaging but i like my tweeter sound to come from on top. Just wondering wht u thought.

honestly im not sure. When i had the midrange in the stock speaker location and the tweet in the stock spot as well i was very much happy with it. Now im not sure.... I need to spend more time tuning with the processor before ill see what im going to do. A few peeps at work want me to move the tweeter down in the pod (which i can easily do) and they also want me to get a better tweet as well (honestly the rockford is probably one of the best ones rockford ever made but with high end SQ brands like CDT, Hertz and audison in my car it may be lacking the quality i'm looking for)

So to answer your question it really is personal preference. While i have been happy with the tweeter in the stock location for 2 years now that might change. Realistically moving the tweeter just effects imaging and height. A higher tweet gives your sound stage more height and makes it sound less like the sound is coming from your feet.

You remember how many times I changed my design and stuff like that. Keep at it man. Settle for a simple, yet custom design that will make you happy. The only person you have to please is you. Everyone else will follow suit. You did good on the door panel. You'll do fine on the rear deck. Was you trying to rebuild the rear deck outta mdf or wood?

how are the pods mounted to the door out of curiousity? They look great btw! I m thinking about doing something similar, but I will only have the mid in the door.

Great job! I was also wondering how they are secured. I would think you just screw it into the inner structure of the door?

it was made for 3 rockford fosgate amps 801s, 801x and 301m. With the end caps the amps barely don't fit and the very back part is to big to fit in (could be sanded down or cut or whatever) Also there's holes for 2 6" areo ports thru the rear deck. In the end I'm getting new amps , went sealed instead of ported and it would be to much time to modify it then just start over.

It looks nice covered in vinyl but no buenos in the end

they are screwed on with 4 screws to the sheet metal (since the panel is cut anyway and it wouldn't hold the weight)

well i understand that, but i would hate one of my friends just accidently kicking it... it was more of safety than looks, but looks would be nice too...

Eheheh On my previous car I made a grill with some speaker cloth on it, it eventually got ripped and torn. Feet just get too close to that spot when getting in and out, I'd constantly kick it too. so those look neked to me.

Damn fine job though
